Thirty, Flirty and Fabulous
Although as my husband will attest, I wasn’t nearly so chipper about it all during the days leading up to the dreaded event.
I woke up Sunday morning to find that in spite of all of my brooding and suspicions, I did not wake up with gray hair nor did I have find an increase in the number of wrinkles on my face. But I do have a dusty old uterus. One with a big scar on it.
I also discovered that Spencer had coughed so hard during the night that he threw up. As my friend Cherie said, “I am amazed at the amount of vomiting that goes on in your house.”
I know. Me too.
Then Matt was called into work since he is on call this week. Emergency root canal.
So we stayed home from church.
After he got home I opened my presents. Then he made me a cake. I would have taken a picture of the cake but it disappeared very quickly.
Emma had been wishing me a happy birthday since the night before. At one point on Saturday night Emma said “Happy birthday Mom!” and Lucy chastised her by saying “You really should save that for tomorrow, Emma.”
Then Emma said “Mom your favorite present is love from me.” Yes, my sweet. That is my favorite present.
But she wouldn’t clean my house. What is with that?
I can also say that it is the first time since childhood that nearly every member of my family remembered and wished me a happy birthday (even two out of three of my little brothers) and several of my in-laws. A far cry from when I turned 26 and my own PARENTS forgot 🙂 But I’m not dwelling on it, as you can see.
Anyway. I am now officially old enough to run for senate… because children just aren’t frustrating enough.
Just kidding. I’m not running for senate. Breathe a sigh of relief… for now 😉
My booty (since I know that’s what you really want to know about)
