Triathlon in 11 Weeks?

Cherie said I needed to do a forty minute bike ride followed by a ten minute run.

Um…

How exactly does a homeschooling mother of four manage to train for a triathlon in 11 weeks AND keep house AND make dinners AND sleep?

Well first, apparently you need a good photographer.

Then you need some Golden Grahams for the resident baby.

AND you need Starfall.com for the resident tornado.  The resident blondie was playing with her toys

You also need an engrossing book (I won’t say a GOOD book because the one I am reading is not at all anything I would recommend, don’t worry, I’ll be posting about it for sure!)

A book is much better then music, audiobooks and/or movies or television at keeping me occupied while I workout.  I discovered that while at the gym a few weeks ago.  My 40 minute bike ride was over in no time!

And I actually ran a few minutes over my 10 minute transition run (teaches your body to go from biking to running without rebelling).  I wanted to run for longer, it felt good and I was into my book.  But I couldn’t make my notes while running (see all the pink post-its) and Jack needed a nap (and today is laundry day)

I almost forgot, it is imperative that you have a few odds and ends scattered around.  That is vital.

And the dolls.  I bet you can’t guess which is the genuine American Girl doll

Using that formula, today worked (though tonight’s dinner is still up in the air).

With Jason gone, my motivation to make nice meals is AWOL. We did cold cereal by candlelight tonight:) Atleast the kids thought it was cool.

Hehe, mine happened from 2220 to 2320 last night :-). So, no fun things for the kids, but I got my workout in before midnight! As for meals… well, that’s yet to be seen. Since Nathan was gone last time I trained for a race I would make dinner for lunch and have snacks (muffins and smoothies etc) for ‘dinner.’ Worked swimmingly! Only works off and on when he’s home because for some reason he’s hungry after a day of not eating… strange, I know.

Oh, and nice book, can’t wait for that synopsis! *laugh* Something tells me that I know a little something about said engrossing text. Thursday is going to be awesome! Please tell me you’re both coming!!
