I'm sure it means nothing. Nothing!

Is anyone else concerned that the president of Iran has met with leaders from China and former Soviet nations to form an alliance against “The West”?

But I wouldn’t worry.  I’m sure it means nothing.  I mean, the alliances on Survivor never mean anything, so why would an alliance of this kind mean anything.  Besides, I’m sure he didn’t mean the U.S or Canada.  Or England for that matter.

On a totally unrelated note.  The administration just ordered a 400 billion dollar cut in defense spending.  And I say good riddance.  Those darn soldiers and veterans make out like bandits at the expense of the rest of us and do absolutely nothing in return, the lazy dopes.

**On the off chance someone is dumb enough to take this post as an indicator of my true feelings, it might be a good idea to look around the rest of my blog to see where I really stand.**

I read about those yesterday too. When are more people going to turn off their mindless prime time, and start to connect the dots of our reality?! Thanks for the info!

A couple of thoughts to consider: If this defense spending cut is the same as all other spending cuts, it means that defense is getting 400 billion less expansion than they had hoped for. Odds are they’re still getting more money than the previous fiscal year. (The astronomical rate of expansion is what has killed the US’s fiscal future. It’s literally more than we mortals can comprehend; hence, it’s pretty much just funny-money that’s handed out, dealing with numbers that big. Funny money that’s ruining us at an ever-accelerating rate. That said, the military is top-heavy, and doesn’t look like it can keep on for much longer on its current track. Serious news, indeed.

There are those who believe that China, Russia & a few other countries will form Magog (it’s anybody’s guess who Gog, the leader, will be). Some interpret Isaiah as meaning that China & Russia will invade the US, as part of the last days. Who knows . . . while I don’t like all of the crazy things that keep happening, in both the courts of men and nature’s arena, I can’t help but harbor a feeling of hope as things seem to be building ever more quickly towards the fulfillment of his prophecies.

I know this is a doozy of a first comment to leave on your blog . . . I just came over from Latter-day Homeschooling . . . but I’m not a kook. Really. ;o) I’d better go read some more, and leave a few more sane comments to take the edge off . . .

      I don’t think you are a kook :)

The military is top-heavy and can absolutely make cuts. But as we are a military family, we get to hear first hand where those cuts are going to come from. Pay and benefits. I believe that the military can cut more than the necessary 400 billion if they were able to do so without bureaucratic interference from people who don’t like the military (like our new Secretary of Defense). The problem is that people always go for the jugular, they never are willing to accept that lots of small and common sense things can be done before touching the income of those who serve. Kind of like how congress’s first solution is always raise taxes and not cut spending. And our military members make a fraction of what they can make in the private sector. You can read my post on military healthcare for more info on that. Given the fact that our national security is on the line, cuts in our defense budget should only be done after research and counsel from officials in and outside of the military. But a blanket “you need to cut 400 billion by this date and I don’t care how you do it except that you aren’t allowed to say no to anything I suggest” doesn’t work.

The prophecies are going to happen regardless of what we do, and as eager as I am to live to see the Second Coming, I’m not so much looking forward to the nastiness that will immediately precede it. But I’m concerned about an alliance between Russia, China and Iran not from a religious standpoint but as a citizen. I don’t see how three countries that all hate the US uniting could be a good thing. So I’m just doing what I can to prepare my family but also make others aware. ‘Cause it’s gonna be a bumpy road!

Hope you like the other things you read. I can be pretty doom and gloom :)
