We have been waiting for the final Janitors book to come out for years! There is nothing like finding a new author that you love and trust and then following along as a series comes to a close.
I think it’s safe to say that Janitors: Heroes of the Dustbin is a worthy close to an excellent story. In the last book we discover that the people that our heroes had counted on to save the day were not the benevolent founding witches that were going to help them save education once and for all, but three evil witches who want to turn children’s minds to mush. Each of the adult allies in their lives are plucked up one by one by the BEM, and before long, Marv is the only adult at their side. With him, Spencer, Daisy, Dez, and the Aurans are left to rescue them on their own. But as you can expect, the best laid plans of mice and men oft go awry. Along the way, Daisy, Spencer, and Dez learn hard earned lessons about betrayal, deception, courage, sacrifice, and loyalty.
One of my favorite things about this book is how principles of truth are woven in the fabric of the story. The one that stuck out to me the most is how things never work out the way we expect them to. Life is complicated and messy. And how no matter well we plan or how careful we are, things are never packaged up neatly and handled with kid gloves. And that most of the time, ***spoiler alert*** that’s ok. God usually has a better plan than we do anyway and while we may end up bruised and battered, eventually we will get to the end of the line, and it will all work out when we reach it.
So for those of you who have been waiting for the end of the series before you commit to reading it, now is the time run out and get it!
