We started ALMOST on time today 🙂
After scriptures and prayer, Lucy read to Spencer while I gave Emma her reading and math lesson. Then Lucy and I sat down and I gave her the oral exams for the 1st grade Saxon level, so we could determine what level she is at and where to start her lessons. And I’m really glad I did. out of 170 (I think) lessons, she is ready to start at lesson 81.
While she is WAY beyond her years as far as arithmetic is concerned, she’s not as advanced on concepts like money, making change, time and other things. So we will start her with that and I imagine she will breeze right through the lessons. I think we’ll end up getting grade 2 pretty soon.
