We all woke up to a nip in the air. So after prayer, songs and Book of Mormon Studies, we threw our lesson plan out the window and made some hand sewn fleece socks. We looked up a pattern online, cut them out and I showed Lucy how to use a needle and thread and told her where to sew to put the socks together. She’s been asking to learn how to sew for a while and now is as good a time as ever.
Especially because on Monday we learned how Betsy Ross learned how to sew when she was Lucy’s age and how she eventually, through a lot of practice, got to where she was the best seamstress in the area.
